Guided by our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), QLeave has taken meaningful steps over the past few years to strengthen cultural capability, build respectful relationships and improve the way we deliver services across our building and construction, contract cleaning and community services schemes.
By reflecting on our reconciliation action journey over the past year, we celebrate our progress and reaffirm our ongoing commitment to making a positive difference for our industries today, tomorrow and into the future.
We are proud to have delivered some key reconciliation initiatives in 2025-26 including:
- Embedding reconciliation learning into our employee onboarding experience, with new employees taking part in a dedicated RAP induction.
- Building staff confidence in demonstrating respect through personalised Acknowledgement of Country workshops.
- Committing to fostering a workplace culture that respects and values the skills, experience and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employers and communities by celebrating National Reconciliation Week, with staff joining our event online and in person.
- Connecting with community by hosting QLeave stalls at NAIDOC events in Brisbane, Cairns and Conclurry.
- Engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-owned businesses to help deliver our RAP commitments.
Our experience this year has also reinforced that reconciliation is not achieved through single events or activities alone. Building cultural capability takes time, commitment, and continued learning. We have seen the strongest engagement through blended learning approaches that bring together online training, facilitated discussion, lived experience and personal reflection.
Looking ahead, QLeave will continue working on strengthening engagement to integrate reconciliation into everyday workplace practice not only during National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week, but throughout the year. We also aim to bolster how we measure the impact of cultural learning on workplace behaviours, decision-making and service delivery so we can continue to approach reconciliation in meaningful and respectful ways.
