QLeave has been made aware of fraudulent emails being sent directly to clients, falsely claiming to be from our organisation.
These phishing emails may include messages such as:
“You have zero credits in your account, click here to view.”
Scammers may also use the QLeave logo, banner or other branding to make these emails appear legitimate. Please, do not click on any links, open attachments, or provide personal information.
How to protect yourself
To ensure your data and information remains safe, follow these simple steps:
- Check the sender’s email address. Official QLeave emails will always come from a '@qleave.qld.gov.au' domain.
- Avoid clicking suspicious links. If something looks unusual, go directly to our website by typing www.qleave.qld.gov.au into your browser.
- Be cautious of urgent or threatening language. Scammers often try to create a sense of panic to prompt quick action.
- Never share personal or financial information via email. QLeave will never ask you to provide sensitive details through email.
What to do if you receive a suspicious email
If you receive an email that seems unusual or unexpected:
- Do not click any links or open attachments.
- Report the email as phishing using your email program (e.g., in Outlook, select Report > Report Phishing).
- Delete the email if you are unable to report it.
If you have clicked a link or entered any information, contact your IT support team immediately or phone 1300 QLEAVE for assistance.
Staying alert helps protect your personal information and supports the security of the QLeave community. If you’re ever unsure about an email you’ve received, please contact us directly for confirmation.
