The worker service return portal is now open. As an employer in the building and construction industry, you must complete your worker service return by 31 July 2026.

Worker service returns detail the eligible work completed by your workers in the past financial year, so we can calculate your worker's accrued long service leave. By completing your worker service return, you can help your workers get the long service leave they’ve earned.

You can complete your return by following the four steps below:

  1. Log in to the portal

Your worker service return must be completed through our Employer and Worker portalYou can log in to the portal using your email address and password. If this is your first time using the portal, you can create an account by clicking the ‘sign up now’ button on the portal access page to create your profile.

If you have any trouble logging into the portal, please make sure to contact us before your return is due.

  1. Add new workers

Before submitting your return, you will need to add any new workers who have started working with you since 1 July 2025. To do this, you’ll need their contact details and, if you know it, their QLeave worker registration number.

If a new worker does not have an existing QLeave registration, you will need to create one for them when you add them to your business. Worker and employer registrations can take up to 10 business days to process, so please ensure you leave enough time to add all workers and complete your return on time.

More information on adding workers to your business can be found here.

  2. Add service for your workers

When completing your worker service return you can submit worker service by either entering your data directly into the online return, or by filling out a spreadsheet.

A detailed step-by-step guide to submitting your return is also available on our YouTube channel.

  1. Submit your returnOnce you've added service for each of your workers, you're ready to submit your return to QLeave. Click ‘submit all workers’ and complete the declaration.
